Load balancing may be abnormal when interfaces on different types of cards join the same Eth-Trunk.

Impact on the System

Traffic is unevenly load balanced among Eth-Trunk member interfaces. As a result, excess packets or packet loss may occur on non-known unicast traffic.

Possible Causes

During configuration restoration, interfaces on different types of cards joined the same Eth-Trunk. For example, interfaces on EC and non-EC series cards joined the same Eth-Trunk. See assign trunk.


  1. Remove all interfaces of a card from the Eth-Trunk and ensure that member interfaces of the Eth-Trunk are on cards of the same type. If the alarm is not cleared, contact technical support personnel.
