VBST_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.323.2.7 hwVbstTrapInvalidPV

Description

VBST/4/PORTVLANINVALID:OID [OID] The number of VLANs that do not participate in calculation in the VBST BPDUs received by interface is [ULONG].(interface name=[STRING],vlan id=[STRING])

The number of VLANs that did not participate in calculation in the VBST BPDUs received by the interface exceeded the threshold.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.323.2.7 Warning qualityOfServiceAlarm(3)

Parameters

Name Meaning
OID Indicates the ID of a MIB object.
hwVbstTrapVlanNum Indicates the number of VLANs that do not participate in calculation in the VBST BPDUs received by the interface.
hwVbstTrapVlan Indicates the list of VLANs that do not participate in calculation in the VBST BPDUs received by the interface.
hwVbstTrapPort Indicates the list of interfaces where the received VBST BPDUs contain the VLANs that do not participate in calculation.

Impact on the System

When the local end receives VBST BPDUs from VBST-incapable VLANs, VBST calculation in VBST-enabled VLANs on the local end may be affected and even protocol flapping may occur.

Possible Causes

When the local end receives VBST BPDUs from VBST-incapable VLANs, VBST calculation in VBST-enabled VLANs on the local end may be affected. In this case, the system counts the number of VLANs that do not participate in calculation. When the value exceeds the threshold of 15, an alarm is generated.

Procedure

  1. Check whether VBST needs to be enabled in VLANs in the alarm.

  2. Run the stp vlan { vlan-id1 [ to vlan-id2 ] } &<1-10> enable command to enable VBST in corresponding VLANs in the alarm. Check whether the alarm persists. If the alarm persists, go to step 4.
  3. Check the configuration of corresponding remote interfaces and disable spanning tree calculation in VLANs on corresponding interfaces. Check whether the alarm persists. If the alarm persists, go to step 4.
  4. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
