Parameters

Name Meaning

oid

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

RouteTypeIndex

Index of the BGP route type

  • 1 IPv4: IPv4 routes, including IPv4 public network and IPv4 VPN routes
  • 2 IPv4 Public: IPv4 public network routes
  • 3 IPv4 VRF: IPv4 VPN routes
  • 4 IPv6: IPv6 routes, including IPv6 public network and IPv6 VPN routes
  • 5 IPv6 Public: IPv6 public network routes
  • 6 IPv6 VRF: IPv6 VPN routes
  • 7 L2AD: BGP L2VPN-AD routes

CurrentRouteNumber

Current number of BGP routes of a specified type

RouteThreshold

Alarm threshold for the number of BGP routes of a specified type

MaximumNumber

Maximum number of BGP routes of a specified type

Impact on the System

The number of routes is approaching the maximum number that is allowed, and routes will no longer be accepted if the maximum number is reached, affecting services.

Possible Causes

The ratio of BGP routes to the maximum number that is allowed exceeded the alarm threshold.

Procedure

  1. Check whether this alarm is caused by configuration or topology errors.

    • If this alarm is caused by configuration or topology errors, go to Step 2.

    • If this alarm is not caused by configuration or topology errors, go to Step 3.

  2. Correct the configuration or topology errors.

If the ratio of BGP routes to the maximum number that is allowed falls below the alarm threshold after the configuration or topology errors are corrected, go to Step 4.

  3. If all the routes are necessary, determine whether to implement capacity expansion and contact technical support personnel.
  4. End.
