Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type Warning equipmentAlarm(5)

Name Meaning

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

Indicates the PW ID.

Indicates the remote IP address of the PW.

Indicates the configured limit on the number of multicast groups.

Indicates the multicast group address.

Impact on the System

Multicast data cannot be forwarded to new multicast groups and users cannot join new multicast groups, but this is a result of normal configuration.

Possible Causes

Users connected to the PW-side interface attempted to join new multicast groups after the number of multicast groups on the interface reached or exceeded the configured limit.

  1. Run the display l2-multicast limit configuration vsi vsi-name remote-peer ip-address [ negotiation-vc-id vc-id ] command to check whether the limit on the number of multicast groups configured for the PW-side interface is too small.

    • If so, go to step 2.

    • If not, go to step 3.

  2. Increase the limit on the number of multicast groups on the PW-side interface to an appropriate value, and then check whether the alarm persists.

    • If so, go to step 3.

    • If not, no further action is required.

  3. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
