FMES/6/FMES_LOG:Input packets are discarded for CRC. (Slot=[ULONG1]/[ULONG2], UnitID=[ULONG3], PortID=[STRING1], DiscardNumber=[STRING2])

Description

CRC errors occur on the HG channel of the board.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
[ULONG1] Indicates the chassis ID of the board.
[ULONG2] Indicates the slot ID of the board.
[ULONG3] Indicates the chip ID.
[STRING1] Indicates the port number of the HG channel.
[STRING2] Indicates the number of CRC error packets.

Possible Causes

The number of packets discarded because CRC check failed exceeded the threshold. Possible causes are as follows:

  • 1. The board is not properly installed.
  • 2. The plug-in connected to the board has bent pins.
  • 3. The slot on the backplane has bent pins.
  • 4. The board is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the front panel of the board is securely tightened.
    • If so, go to step 2.
    • If not, ensure that it is securely tightened.
  2. Restart the board and check whether the log persists.
    • If so, go to step 3.
    • If not, the alarm handling ends.
  3. Remove the board and check whether there are bent pins on the backplane and connector.
    • If so, go to step 4.
    • If not, go to step 5.
  4. Replace the board and check whether the log persists.
    • If so, go to step 6.
    • If not, the alarm handling ends.
  5. Remove and then install the board and check whether the log persists.
    • If so, go to step 6.
    • If not, the alarm handling ends.
  6. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.You can collect diagnostic information using the display diagnostic-information command.
