DHCP/4/IPCON_LINK: The IP address assigned by a DHCP server conflicted with another host on the link. (Client InterfaceName=[interface-name], ServerId=[ip-address], Assigned IpAddress=[assigned-ip-address])


The IP address allocated for the interface conflicted with that of another device on the network.


Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

Client InterfaceName

Indicates the interface name of the DHCP client.


Indicates the IP address of the DHCP server.

Assigned IpAddress

Indicates the IP address obtained by the interface from the DHCP server.

Possible Causes

The IP address allocated for the interface conflicts with that of another interface on the device.


  • The DHCP client will request an IP address again. This log message is informational only and no action is required.
