MRM/6/CAC_GLB_CHN:In VPN instance "[vpn-instance-name]", because the number of PIM route entries which belong to the channel [channel-name] reached the global limit of this channel, PIM discarded the received Join message ([source-address], [group-address]). The current statistical number of PIM routing entries of this channel is [statistical-number]. (FlCode=[STRING][ULONG])

The total number of PIM entries, existing and newly added, exceeded the channel-based global entry limit, and thus the received Join message that recorded the newly added PIM entry was discarded.

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
[vpn-instance-name] Indicates the name of a VPN instance.
[channel-name] Indicates the channel name.
[source-address] Indicates the source address.
[group-address] Indicates the group address.
[statistical-number] Indicates the statistics of multicast routing entries.
FlCode Indicates the name of the source code file and the line number of this log message.

Possible Causes

When the channel-based global entry limit was set, the number of PIM entries reached the limit.

  • If services are not affected, no action is required.
  • If services are affected, run the igmp global limit command in the channel view of the corresponding instance to increase the maximum number of PIM entries that can be created globally for the channel.
  • If increasing the maximum number is not allowed due to the processing capability limit of the system, Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
