Message

SW_SNPG/4/IGMP_PKT_INVALID:Receive an IGMP packet from [STRING1] to [STRING2] with unsupported type. (Type=[LONG])

Description

The switch does not support the type of received IGMP message.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
[STRING1] Indicates the source IP address of the message.
[STRING2] Indicates the destination IP address of the message.
Type Indicates the IGMP message type.

Possible Causes

The switch does not support the type of received IGMP message.

Procedure

  1. Check the source IP address, destination IP address, and type of the IGMP message in the log information. Determine whether this type of IGMP message needs to be processed by the switch.

    • If yes, go to step 2.
    • If no, this log message is informational only, and no action is required.

  2. Reconstruct the IGMP messages and check whether the switch can process them. If the switch cannot process the reconstructed IGMP messages, go to step 3.
  3. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel. You can collect diagnostic information using the display diagnostic-information command.
