MCAST/3/VLAN:Failed to set Vlan (VLANID=[ULONG])Attribute to (Attr=[ULONG], Result=[ULONG]).

The flag required by multicast is sent to a port.

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
Attr attribute to be set
  • 0: disable multicast layer 2 and layer 3
  • 1: disable multicast layer 2 and enable multicast layer 3
  • 2: enable multicast layer 2 and disable multicast layer 3
  • 3: enable multicast layer 2 and layer 3
  • 4: send CPU in an unknown multicast stream
  • 5: not send CPU in an unknown multicast stream
Result Indicates the error code of the failure to deliver the VLAN attribute to an interface. The error code 0 means that the VLAN attribute has been successfully delivered to the interface.

Possible Causes

The setting may fail due to certain reasons, for example, the VLAN does not exist.

  1. Run the display vlan command to check whether the VLAN where an error occurs exist. If not, view the operation log and check whether the log is generated because the VLAN is deleted.
  2. If the log is generated because the undo vlan command is run, this log is normal information caused by the time sequence when the system processes the memory and does not need to be processed.
  3. For other cases, collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel. For details, see Troubleshooting-Information Collection-Collecting Diagnostic Information.
