SW_SNPG/3/L2MC_CAC (UNSPECIFIED-CHANNEL DENY)

SW_SNPG/3/L2MC_CAC (UNSPECIFIED-CHANNEL DENY)

Message

  • The unspecified-channel deny configuration exists in VLAN channel. (VlanId=%u, CurrentMulticastGroup=%s)

  • The unspecified-channel deny configuration exists in global channel. (CurrentMulticastGroup=%s)

Description

The unspecified-channel deny command has been configured in a channel.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
VlanId Indicates a VLAN ID.
CurrentMulticastGroup Indicates the current multicast group.

Possible Causes

unspecified-channel deny command prevents the switch from forwarding multicast data to the groups out of the group address range configured for a channel. After the unspecified-channel deny command is executed in a channel, the device does not generate a multicast entry when receiving a request without a channel specified.

Procedure

  1. Determine whether the unspecified-channel deny configuration is necessary in the current scenario. If only the multicast data packets of the specified groups are allowed to be forwarded in the VLAN, this log is informational only, and no action is required. If not, go to step 2.
  2. Allow multicast data packets with group addresses out of the group address range specified for the channel to be forwarded.

    • Configuration in a VLAN:
      1. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
      2. Run the l2-multicast-channel vlan vlan-id command to enter the l2-multicast-channel view of a VLAN.
      3. Run the undo unspecified-channel deny command to enable the switch to forward multicast data to the groups out of the group address range configured for a channel.
    • Global configuration:
      1. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
      2. Run the l2-multicast-channel command to enter the global l2-multicast-channel view.
      3. Run the undo unspecified-channel deny command to enable the switch to forward multicast data to the groups out of the group address range configured for a channel.
