DHCP/4/NAK: The DHCP client received a NAK packet from a DHCP server. (Client InterfaceName=[interface-name], ServerId=[ip-address])


The interface received the NAK packet from the DHCP server.


Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

Client InterfaceName

Indicates the name of the interface for which the IP address is applied for again.


Indicates the IP address of the DHCP server.

Possible Causes

The IP address obtained by the interface is inconsistent with the lease IP address saved on the DHCP server.


  1. If the interface keeps receiving NAK packets from the DHCP server, check whether the DHCP server configuration is correct.
    • If the DHCP server configuration is correct, go to step 2.
    • If the DHCP server configuration is incorrect, go to step 3.
  2. No action is required and the DHCP client will request an IP address again.
  3. Modify the DHCP server configuration.
