Configuration Task Summary

Configuration Task Summary

NOTE:

An SVF system can be configured and managed on a switch or eSight. Configuring and managing an SVF system on eSight is visualized and more convenient. For the SVF configuration on eSight, see "SVF Management" in the eSight Product Documentation of the eSight version matching the switch. The S5300&S6300 do not support eSight.

Table 9-4 lists SVF configuration tasks.

Table 9-4  SVF configuration task summary
Scenario Description Task
The parent is directly connected to level-1 ASs, level-1 ASs are not connected to level-2 ASs, and APs are connected to the SVF system.

This is a typical SVF networking scenario, which supports both wired and wireless access.

  1. Setting Up an SVF System (The Parent Is Directly Connected to ASs)

  2. Setting Up an SVF System (AP Access)

  3. Configuring Services for an AS

The parent is directly connected to level-1 ASs, level-1 ASs are connected to level-2 ASs, and APs are connected to the SVF system.

If many access users exist and the network scale is large, connect level-2 ASs to level-1 ASs.

  1. Setting Up an SVF System (The Parent Is Directly Connected to ASs)

  2. Setting Up an SVF System (AP Access)

  3. Configuring Services for an AS

During SVF setup, configure the fabric port that connects a level-1 AS to a level-2 AS for AS access.

The parent is connected to level-1 ASs across a network, and APs are connected to the SVF system.

If some access devices are connected to aggregation devices across a Layer 2 network, use the configuration performed in this scenario.

  1. Setting Up an SVF System (The Parent Is Connected to ASs Across a Layer 2 Network)

  2. Setting Up an SVF System (AP Access)

  3. Configuring Services for an AS
