(Optional) Setting the RRPP Working Mode
Context
The Rapid Ring Protection Protocol (RRPP) is a Huawei-specific protocol and was originally designed to run between Huawei devices only. To enable a Huawei device to communicate with a non-Huawei device, configure RRPP to work in GB mode.
The RRPP working mode is set on the master node in the RRPP domain.
- Only the RRPP version defined by Huawei supports functions and configurations of edge nodes, assistant edge nodes, common interfaces, edge interfaces, and ring groups.
- Each node on an RRPP ring must use the same working mode. Otherwise, the entire ring network cannot be restored after a transit node link recovers.
Procedure
- Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run:
rrpp working-mode { hw | gb }
The RRPP working mode is set.
The gb parameter indicates the GB standard, while the hw parameter indicates the Huawei-specific standard. To enable a Huawei device to communicate with a non-Huawei device, specify gb.
By default, the RRPP version defined by Huawei is used.
