(Optional) Configuring a Port Priority in an MSTI
Context
During spanning tree calculation, port priorities in MSTIs determine which ports are selected as designated ports.
To block a port in an MSTI to eliminate loops, set the port priority to a value larger than the default value. This port will be blocked during designated port selection.
Procedure
- Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run:
interface interface-type interface-number
The Ethernet interface view is displayed.
- Run:
stp binding process process-id
The port is bound to an MSTP process.
- Run:
stp [ process process-id ] instance instance-id port priority priority
A port priority is set in an MSTI.
By default, the port priority is 128.
The priority value ranges from 0 to 240, in increments of 16.
