Switching to the RSTP Mode
Context
If an interface on an RSTP-enabled device is connected to an STP-enabled device, the interface switches to the STP compatible mode.
If the STP-enabled device is powered off or disconnected from the RSTP-enabled device, the interface cannot automatically switch back to the RSTP mode. Run the stp mcheck command to switch the interface to the RSTP mode.
You need to manually switch the interface to the RSTP mode in the following situations:
The STP-enabled device is shut down or disconnected.
The STP-enabled device is switched to the RSTP mode.
