(Optional) Setting the Length of a Port Queue

(Optional) Setting the Length of a Port Queue

You can set the maximum number of bytes to be cached in a specified queue on an interface so that the queue has sufficient buffer, preventing packet loss.

Before setting the maximum number of bytes to be cached in a queue, run the shutdown command to shut down the interface. After the maximum number of bytes to be cached in a queue is set, run the undo shutdown command to enable the interface. These operations may cause network interruption in a short period of time.

  1. Run:

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run:

    interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.

  3. Run:

    The interface is shut down.

  4. Run:

    qos queue queue-index length length-value

The queue length on the interface is set.

The ET1D2L02QSC0, ET1D2L08QSC0, ET1D2X48SEC0, ET1D2C02FEE0, SC series, and X series cards do not support this command.

  5. Run:

    undo shutdown

    The interface is restarted.
