When Is Port Binding Not Needed?

Port binding is not needed if:

  • In the array, the target iSCSI ports are in different broadcast domains or IP subnets.
  • The VMkernel ports for iSCSI connections are in different broadcast domains, IP subnets, or vSwitches.
  • Routing is required to reach the iSCSI array.
