Identifying HBAs

Identifying HBAs

After an HBA is installed on a host, run the following command on the host to check whether the HBA is identified by the host.

[root@localhost ~]# lspci|grep Fibre
03:00.0 Fibre Channel: Emulex Corporation Saturn-X: LightPulse Fibre Channel Host Adapter (rev 03)
03:00.1 Fibre Channel: Emulex Corporation Saturn-X: LightPulse Fibre Channel Host Adapter (rev 03)
[root@localhost ~]#
[root@localhost ~]# cat /sys/class/scsi_host/host*/model*name
LPe12002
LPe12002

The output indicates that the host has identified two Fibre Channel host ports and the HBA model is Emulex LPe12002.

The method for viewing the HBA WWN varies according to the operating system. The following describes the methods on different operating systems.

SUSE 9

View /proc/scsi/qla2xxx/* and filter the keyword adapter-port.

# cat /proc/scsi/qla2xxx/* | grep adapter-port
scsi-qla0-adapter-port=21000018822c8a2c;
scsi-qla1-adapter-port=21000018822c8a2d;

SUSE 10 and Later Versions

Find the WWN information in the /sys/class/fc_host/host*/port_name file.

# cat /sys/class/fc_host/host*/port_name
0x210000e08b907955
0x210000e08b902856
