ALM-0x0100002F Fatal Error Detected in Memory Initialization (Memory, Critical Alarm)
Description
Alarm message:
[arg1] arg2 memory MRC fatal error detected. Error code: arg3.
From iBMC V316, this alarm also includes the DIMM BOM code. From iBMC V561, this alarm also includes the DIMM SN.
This alarm is generated when a fatal error is detected during the memory initialization process. The error code is arg3.

Possible Causes
- The DIMMs installed are not compatible with the CPU.
- The DIMM layout does not comply with the configuration rules.
Procedure
- Check whether other memory alarms are present.
- Clear other memory alarms. Then, check whether this alarm is cleared.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to 3.
- Power off the server and check the models of the DIMMs for which the alarm is generated.
- Check whether the DIMM models are compatible with the server using the Computing Product Compatibility Checker.
- Check whether the DIMMs are installed in correct slots.
For details about DIMM installation positions, see the user guide of the server you use.
- Install the DIMMs in correct slots. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to 8.
- Replace the DIMMs with compatible ones and power on the server. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to 8.
