ALM-0x02000021 Failed to Read Hard Disk VPD Information (Disk, Minor Alarm)
Description
Alarm message:
Failed to obtain data of the arg1 disk arg2 VPD information (SN: arg3).
From iBMC V316, the CPU and disk alarms will also include the SN and BOM code and the mainboard and memory alarms will also include the BOM code.
This alarm is generated when the system failed to read the hard disk VPD information.

Possible Causes
- The hard disk is damaged or has poor contact with its slot.
- The hard disk is faulty.
- The drive backplane is faulty.
Procedure
- Restart the iBMC. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to 2.
- Remove and reinstall the power cable or board. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to 3.
- Replace the hard disk. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to 4.
- Replace the drive backplane. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.
If yes, no further action is required.
If no, go to 5.
- Contact technical support engineer.
