Replacing an SPD
Prerequisites
- An SPD needs to be replaced. For the position of the SPD, see A Electric Control Box Layout.
- A spare SPD of the same model is available and functional.
- Tool: Phillips screwdriver
Procedure
- On the controller home screen, tap Shutdown and switch off the smart cooling product circuit breakers in the PDF.
Exercise caution because the device is still energized after it is shut down on the controller home screen.
- Open the rear door and remove the air filter.
- Remove all cables and terminals from the electrical box, as shown by step 3 in 6.4.16 Replacing a Contactor.
- Remove the four screws on the front of the electrical box using a Phillips screwdriver, as shown by step 4 in 6.4.16 Replacing a Contactor, and then remove the electrical box.
- Remove the SPD cover using a socket wrench, remove cables from the SPD, and remove the SPD.Figure 6-63 Removing an SPD
- Secure the new SPD, connect the cables, and install the SPD cover.Figure 6-64 Installing an SPD
- Reinstall the electrical box, as shown by steps 7 and 8 in 6.4.16 Replacing a Contactor.
- Power on the smart cooling product and verify that no alarm is generated.
- Install the air filter and close the rear door.
