Impact on the System

A stack fails to be created or splits.

Possible Causes

  • The stack interface was shut down.
  • All physical interfaces became Down.
  • The stack link was faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check the connection and validity of stack cables. Run the display interface brief command to check the physical status and protocol status of the stack interface.

    • If the physical status of an interface is Down, check whether the cable connected to the interface is loosened or removed.
    • If the physical status of the interface is Up, go to step 2.

  2. Check whether the shutdown command was executed on the interface. Run the interface interface-type interface-number command to enter the stack interface view, and run the display this command to check whether the shutdown configuration exists.

    • If so, run the undo shutdown command.
    • If not, go to step 3.

  3. Collect traps, logs, and configurations, and contact technical support personnel.
