Creating a VS

Creating a VS

Physical interfaces can be assigned to the VS in two modes:
  • Group mode: All interfaces on the same group must be allocated to the same VS.

All VSs in group mode exclusively use service specifications. Therefore, VSs in group mode have high service specifications and strong support for other functions. For example, these VSs can have M-LAG and VXLAN configured independently.

  • Port mode: All interfaces on an interface card can be allocated to any VS, which has high flexibility.

All VSs in port mode share service specifications. Therefore, VSs in port mode have low service specifications and weaker support for other functions than VSs in group mode. For example, VSs in port mode cannot have M-LAG and VXLAN configured.

  • One physical system (PS) can be virtualized into a maximum of 16 VSs including the Admin-VS.

  • Only the PS administrator can create VSs.

  4. Run port-mode { group | port } [ resource-template template-name ]

  5. (Optional) Run description description

Description information is configured for the VS.

By default, no description information is configured for a VS.
