Licensing Requirements

The SFC function is controlled by a license. By default, the SFC function is disabled on the newly purchased CE6880EI and CE5880EI series switches. To use the SFC function, apply for and purchase the license from the equipment vendor.

Feature Limitations

  • Currently, CE switches only support SFC deployment using commands, and do not support SFC deployment through the Agile Controller.

  • Only gateways can be configured as SFFs.

  • Only Layer 3 IPv4 packets can be transmitted along an SFC.

  • SFs can connect to an SFC network only in routing mode.

  • Spine nodes on a distributed VXLAN network cannot be configured as SFFs.
