Port Bonding
The following uses the MZ520 and CX320 as an example to describe port bonding for the MZ520. Figure 5-19 shows the network topology in which MZ520s work with CX320s.
In Figure 5-19, CH121 V3 (1) is installed in slot Blade1 in E9000 chassis (1), and CH121 V3 (2) is in slot Blade2. An MZ520 is installed in slot Mezz1 on each CH121 V3. The two physical ports on each MZ520 connect to two CX320 switch modules respectively. CX320 (1) is installed in slot 2X in E9000 chassis (1), and CX320 (2) is in slot 3X. Install MZ520s, CH121s, and CX320s in the same slots in E9000 chassis (2). The external port (uplink port) of CX320 (1) is connected to the external port of CX320 (3) using an optical cable. The external port (uplink port) of CX320 (2) is connected to the external port of CX320 (4) using an optical cable. The CH121 V3 servers run Windows Server 2008 R2.
Port0 and Port1 of the MZ520 are configured as NIC teaming in the Server Manager. The following sections describe how to configure and apply four NIC teaming modes: active-backup, balancing, 802.3ad, and LACP.
