Configuring SR-IOV in Windows
This section uses Windows Server 2012 R2 as an example. For details about the configuration on other OSs, see the OS documentation provided by the OS vendors.
To configure SR-IOV in Windows Server 2012 R2, perform the following steps:
You have enabled SR-IOV in the QLogic BIOS. In Windows Server 2012 R2 that has chipset drivers installed, install NIC drivers, open Device Manager, and check whether the drivers for SR-IOV are installed properly.
- Install Hyper-V, log in to Windows Server 2012 R2, and open Server Manager. Choose Manage > Add Roles and Features.Figure 4-265 Server Manager

- Select Role-based or feature-based installation and click Next.Figure 4-267 Selecting an installation mode

- In the displayed window, click Add Features.Figure 4-270 Adding features (2)
- Retain default settings and click Next.Figure 4-271 Adding features (2)
- In the Features area, select .NET Framework 4.5 Feature (2 of 7 installed) and click Next.Figure 4-272 Selecting features
- In the Hyper-V window, click Next.Figure 4-273 Hyper-V

- Select Allow this server to send and receive live migrations of virtual machines and click Next.Figure 4-275 Virtual Machine Migration
- In the Default Stores window, click Next.Figure 4-276 Default Stores
- In the Confirm installation selections window, click Install.Figure 4-277 Confirm installation selections
- Hyper-V has been installed, as shown in Figure 4-278. Click Close to restart the system for the settings to take effect. After the restart is complete, go to the system and open Server Manager. You can see that Hyper-V has been installed, as shown in Figure 4-279.
- On Server Manager, open Hyper-V Manager, right-click it, and choose Virtual Switch Manager.Figure 4-280 Hyper-V Manager

- Enter 57810_v1 in the Name text box, select Enable single-root I/O virtualization (SR-IOV), and click Apply. In the displayed window, click yes and then click OK.Figure 4-282 Associating a network port
- After the configuration is complete, check that the network port (Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter) is displayed on Device Manager.Figure 4-283 Viewing the virtual switch
