Configuring SR-IOV in VMware ESXi
To configure SR-IOV in VMware ESXi 6.0, perform the following steps:
You have enabled SR-IOV in the QLogic BIOS and installed NIC drivers.
- In VMware ESXi 6.0, run the lspci | grep-i 57810 command to view physical network ports.Figure 4-273 Viewing NIC ports
- Enable SR-IOV and run the esxcfg-module bnx2x-s max_vfs=[num] command, in which [num] indicates the number of VFs to be enabled. Restart the system for the setting to take effect.Figure 4-274 Enabling SR-IOV and setting the number of VFs
- Run the lspci | grep-i 57810 command to check the total number of network ports.Figure 4-275 Checking the VF generation result
After VFs are created for the MZ522, do not shut down vmnics of the VFs; otherwise, the VFs cannot work properly. If vmnics of the VFs are disabled accidentally, restart the OS.
