Port Bonding
The following uses the MZ522 and CX320 as an example to describe port bonding for the MZ522. Figure 5-19 shows the network topology in which MZ522s work with CX320s.
In Figure 5-19, CH121 V3 (1) is installed in slot Blade1 in E9000 chassis (1), and CH121 V3 (2) is in slot Blade2. An MZ522 is installed in slot Mezz1 on each CH121 V3. The four physical ports on each MZ522 connect to two CX320 switch modules respectively. CX320 (1) is installed in slot 2X in E9000 chassis (1), and CX320 (2) is in slot 3X. Install MZ522s, CH121s, and CX320s in the same slots in E9000 chassis (2). The external port (uplink port) of CX320 (1) is connected to the external port of CX320 (3) using an optical cable. The external port (uplink port) of CX320 (2) is connected to the external port of CX320 (4) using an optical cable. The CH121 V3 servers run Windows Server 2008 R2.
Port0 and Port1 on Controller 0 of the MZ522 are configured as NIC teaming in the Server Manager. Controller 1 has similar configuration to Controller 0. The following sections describe how to configure and apply four NIC teaming modes: active-backup, balancing, 802.3ad, and LACP.
