Configuring SAN Boot
You can configure SAN Boot in the QLogic BIOS.
To configure SAN Boot, perform the following steps:
- When the following screen is displayed, press F11 to enter the Boot Manager screen.Figure 4-70 Pressing F11 to go to Boot Manager
Press ESC to exit. Select Device Manager and press Enter.

- Select a port and press Enter. On the displayed screen, press Enter again to confirm the selection.Figure 4-73 Selecting a portFigure 4-74 Confirming the selection
- On the Main Configuration Page screen, select Device Hardware Configuration and press Enter. On the Device Hardware Configuration screen, set UEFI Boot Mode to FCoE.Figure 4-75 Setting the boot mode to FCoE
- Press Esc to return to the Main Configuration Page screen, select FCoE Boot Configuration Menu and then FCoE General Parameters. On the displayed screen, set Boot to FCoE Target to Enabled.Figure 4-76 Enabling FCoE SAN Boot
- Return to the FCoE Boot Configuration Menu screen and select FCoE Target Parameters.
Set Connect X (such as Connect 1) to Enabled and set WWPNs and boot LUNs. WWPNs 1 to 6 can be set through automatically scanning storage ports or manually selecting online storage ports. The plus sign (+) indicates that the port is online. The minus sign (-) indicates that the port is offline. To set WWPN 7 and WWPN 8, manually enter WWPNs.

For example, if Connect 1 and Connect 2 are both configured, the system boots preferentially boots from Connect 2.
