Identifying MZ620 Ports in the OS

The following describes how to identify MZ620 ports in Linux.

  1. In Linux, run the mst start command to start the MST service.
  2. Run the lspci | grep -i mell command to view MZ620 information (PCIe functions).

    Figure 4-1 shows the command output. One chip corresponds to two functions.

  3. Run the ibstat command to view MZ620 port status.

    • CA 'mlx5_0' indicates the device name.
    • Physical state indicates the physical status.
    • State indicates the logical status.
    • Link layer indicates the link type.

    One port of a HCA corresponds to one GUID, so two ports have two GUIDs.Table 4-1describes the GUID allocation.

  4. Run the ifconfig -a command to view the IPoIB ports, which are displayed as ib[num]. Each IPoIB port has a unique ib[num] name. See Figure 4-3.

  5. To view the mapping between the IB ports and the IPoIB ports, run the ibdev2netdev command. See Figure 4-4.
