Installing and Uninstalling the MZ620 Driver in the OS


If no driver version is specified, obtain the latest driver package from FusionServer iDriver. If the driver version is specified, obtain the driver version from FusionServer iDriver.

If the OS is installed using the default configuration, some drivers that depend on RPM packages may not be found, for example, gcc-gfortran, python, python-devel, and libgfortran44 in SUSE and tcl-devel and tk-devel in Red Hat. Check that all the RPM packages are installed to prevent driver installation failure.

The MZ620 driver varies according to the OS type. The following describes how to install and uninstall the MZ620 driver in Linux.

For details about how to download the driver software package, see Installing Drivers and Firmware > Preparing for Installation in Huawei Server OS Installation Guide.

The MZ620 driver package in Linux is named in the format of MLNX_OFED_LINUX-driver version-os version-x86_64.gz.

Run the ofed_info -s command to view the driver version. See Figure 4-5. (This command is available only after the driver is installed.)

To install the MZ620 driver in Linux, perform the following steps:

  1. Copy the .gz driver package (for example, MLNX_OFED_LINUX-3.2- to a directory in Linux.
  2. Run the tar -zxf MLNX_OFED_LINUX-3.2- command to decompress the package.

    After the decompression, the MLNX_OFED_LINUX-3.2- directory is generated.

  3. Go to the driver file directory, and run the driver installation file

    #./mlnxofedinstall --without-fw-update

  4. To uninstall the MZ620 driver in Linux, go to the driver file directory and run the file.

    # ./
