Configuring Local PBR

Configuring Local PBR

Pre-configuration Tasks

Before configuring local SPR, complete the following tasks:

  • Setting link layer protocol parameters for interfaces to ensure that the link layer protocol status on the interfaces is Up

  • Configuring an ACL to match packets

  • Creating a VPN instance if you want packets to be forwarded by a VPN instance

Local PBR applies only to locally generated packets.

When the local policy-based routing and the fast ICMP reply function are configured at the same time, the local policy-based routing function does not take effect for ICMP packets. Therefore, if the local policy-based routing function is configured on the device, you are advised to disable the fast ICMP reply function.
