Local Port Mirroring
Local port mirroring enables the device to copy the packets passing through a mirrored port and send them to the local observing port for analysis and monitoring.
The local observing port is directly connected to a monitoring device. As shown in Figure 10-2, through local port mirroring, the local observing port forwards the packets that are copied from the mirrored port to the connected monitoring device.
