Description

FIB/4/BOARD_FWD_RES_THRESHOLD_EXCEED:OID [oid] The board forwarding engine resources exceeded the threshold. (EntPhysicalindex=[INTEGER], EntPhysicalName=[OCTET], Reason=[INTEGER])

The board forwarding engine resources exceeded the threshold.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.227.2.1.15 Warning qualityOfServiceAlarm(3)

Parameters

Name Meaning

oid

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

EntPhysicalindex

Index of the physical entry

EntPhysicalName

Name of the physical entry

Reason

The probable cause of trap, which can only be:
  • 99: The threshold value of forward tokens on the board.

Impact on the System

The board forwarding engine resources reached the threshold value. Services will be affected if the number of forward tokens keeps increasing.

Possible Causes

Cause 99:

The percentage of tokens in the board space exceeded 80% of the upper threshold supported by the forwarding engine.

Procedure

  1. Run the display mpls lsp statistics command to check whether the number of created tunnels exceeds the expected number and whether the number of tokens on the device exceeds the upper threshold.

    • If the number of created tunnels exceeds the expected number, remove the redundant tunnels. If the alarm persists, go to Step 2.

    • If the number of created tunnels does not exceed the expected number, go to Step 2.

  2. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
