Parameters

Name Meaning

oid

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

hwMgmdNotificationAddressType

Group address type:
  • 1: IPv4 address (IGMP)

  • 2: IPv6 address (MLD)

hwMgmdHostStarGCurrentCount

Number of existing (*, G) entries of all instances on the user-side IGMP/MLD device

hwMgmdHostStarGThreshold

Upper and lower alarm thresholds for the (*, G) entry usage of all instances on the user-side IGMP/MLD device

hwMgmdHostStarGTotalCount

Maximum limit of total number of (*, G) entries of all instances on the user-side IGMP/MLD device

Impact on the System

The number of (*, G) entries is about to reach the maximum number allowed, after which new (*, G) entries cannot be created.

Possible Causes

The total number of (*, G) entries of all instances reached the specified upper alarm threshold on the user-side IGMP/MLD device.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the upper alarm threshold is too low in the configuration file.

    • If the threshold is too low, go to Step 2.

    • If the threshold is not low, go to Step 3.

  2. Run the mgmd host star-group-number threshold-alarm upper-limit upper-limit-value lower-limit lower-limit-value command in the multicast MIB view to set the upper alarm threshold to a larger value.
  3. Confirm whether network expansion is required. If network expansion is required, contact technical support personnel.
  4. End.
