This section describes the applicable environment of VLAN mapping.

VLAN ID-based VLAN Mapping

As shown in Figure 9-2, enterprise A has two branches that connect to the carrier network through PE1 and PE2 respectively. Enterprise A has different services, so different VLANs are assigned. Different VLANs in the two branches are assigned to department 1. To implement interworking of department 1, configure VLAN ID-based VLAN mapping and dot1q tunnel.

802.1p Priority-based VLAN Mapping

As shown in Figure 9-3, enterprise A has two branches. Voice services reaching an enterprise branch need to be preferentially forwarded. You can configure 802.1p priority-based VLAN mapping and dot1q tunnel.
