Indicators of a RH2288 V3 12-slot Node

Observe and record the indicator status of a RH2288 V3 12-slot node. Identify the faulty hardware module based on the indicator status.

You can initially determine the operating status of a RH2288 V3 12-slot node by observing its indicators.

Table 7-1 shows the indicators and buttons on its front panel.

Details

Fault diagnosis LED

  • ---: The server is operating properly.
  • Error code: A fault occurs in server hardware.

    For details about error code, see HUAWEI Rack Server Alarm Handling (iBMC).

Power button/indicator

  • Off: The server is not powered on.

  • Blinking yellow: iBMC is being started.

  • Steady yellow: The system is in the standby state.

  • Steady green: The system is properly powered on.

NOTE:
Press and hold down the power button for 6 seconds to power off the server.

UID button/indicator

The UID button/indicator helps identify and locate a server in a rack. You can turn on or off the UID indicator by manually pressing the UID button or remotely running a command on the iBMC CLI.
  • Steady blue: The server is located.
  • Off: The server is not located.
NOTE:
To reset server, hold down the UID button for 4 to 6 seconds.

Health status indicator

  • Steady green: The device is working properly.

  • Blinking red at 1 Hz: A major alarm is reported.

  • Blinking red at 5 Hz: A critical alarm is reported.

Disk Active indicator

  • Off: The hard disk is not detected or is faulty.

  • Blinking green: Data is being read from, written to the hard disk, or synchronized between hard disks.

  • Steady green: The hard disk is inactive.

Disk Fault indicator

  • Off: The hard disk is operating properly.

  • Blinking yellow: The hard disk is located.

  • Steady yellow: The hard disk is not detected or is faulty.

Network port link indicator

Each indicator shows the status of an Ethernet port on the NIC.

  • Steady green: The network port is correctly connected.

  • Off: The network port is not used or faulty.

NOTE:
If the NIC provides only two network ports, network port indicators 1 and 2 on the front panel are used.
Table 7-2 shows the indicators and buttons on the real panel of a RH2288 V3 12-slot node.

  • Blinking orange: Data is being transmitted.

  • Off: No data is being transmitted.

Connection status indicator

  • Steady blue: The server is located.
  • Off: The server is not located.

PSU indicator

  • Steady green: Both the active output and the standby output are normal.
  • Off: There is no AC power input; the input overvoltage or undervoltage occurs and the PSU is not detected; the PSU is abnormal.

Hard disk active indicator

  • Blinking green: Data is being read from, written to the hard disk, or synchronized between hard disks.

  • Steady green: The hard disk is inactive.

  • Off: The hard disk is not detected or is faulty.

Hard disk fault indicator

  • Off: The hard disk is operating properly or hard disks cannot be detected in the RAID group.

  • Blinking yellow: The hard disk is being located, or rebuilding RAID.

  • Steady yellow: The hard disk is not detected or is faulty.

NOTE:
If the fault indicator is steady yellow, run the Show command to check the RAID status to determine whether the RAID array status is abnormal or whether the hard disk is faulty. For details about command description, see HUAWEI Server RAID Controller Card User Guide in the product documentation.
