Installation Overview

Installation Overview

This chapter describes how to install FusionStorage storage cluster software in common scenarios.

When installing software, you need to ensure network communication of the installation environment. Then use the pre-installed Operation & Maintenance Tool to batch deploy the storage cluster software on all nodes over the back-end storage network. Figure 1-1 shows the procedure of software installation using direct-connection storage nodes.

Figure 1-1  Software installation diagram

The installation requirements are as follows:

  • Before software installation, you do not need to configure a maintenance IP address for each storage node (such as the IP address for the Mgmt port of a node). Their management IP addresses are automatically configured in a batch during software installation.
  • Before shipping, storage nodes already have production images inside, including the Euler Linux operating system and other software such as Operation & Maintenance Tool.
  • FusionStorage does not support the hybrid deployment of V3 nodes with V5 nodes.
  • FusionStorage supports both IPv4 and IPv6. Details are as follows:
    • The front-end service network supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
    • The back-end storage network supports only IPv4.
    • The management network supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
  • FusionStorage does not support local link IPv6 address starting with FE80 or multicase IPv6 address starting with FF00.
