DNS Client Application

Figure 7-83 shows typical networking of a DNS client.

As shown in Figure 7-83, the device functions as a DNS client and can dynamically obtain the corresponding IP address of a domain name from a DNS server. This facilitates user communication.

DNS Proxy Application

Figure 7-84 shows the typical networking of DNS proxy.

After being configured with DNS proxy, the device can forward DNS request and reply packets between the internal DNS clients and external DNS server. When the DNS server address changes, you only need to configure the DNS proxy, not the DNS clients. This facilitates centralized network management.
