Configuring Cloud-based Management (Using the CloudCampus APP)

Configuring Cloud-based Management (Using the CloudCampus APP)

Background

When installing an AP, upload information about its actual installation position to the Agile Controller-Campus for subsequent efficient O&M and value-added services based on STA locations. The CloudCampus APP can be used to import and upload AP information.

The CloudCampus APP can be obtained in either of the following methods:

  • Search for and download the CloudCampus APP in Huawei AppGallery.
    1. Download Huawei AppGallery. If the app AppGallery has been installed on a mobile phone, perform 2.
    2. Search for the keyword CloudCampus in Huawei AppGallery, and select the CloudCampus APP, and download and install it.
    NOTE:

Currently, the CloudCampus APP is available only on the Android OS.

  • Scan the QR code to download the CloudCampus APP.

On the login screen of the Agile Controller-Campus, touch the area highlighted in the following figure to view the QR code.

An AP can be deployed using the CloudCampus APP in one of the following methods:
  1. Quick deployment: a simple mode of deploying a device by scanning its barcode. Users do not need to manually enter the password for connecting to a management SSID or the password for logging in to a device. This deployment mode is applicable to single-device scenarios.
  2. Deploy a device by scanning its barcode. You can import location information about an AP and deliver configurations to the AP by scanning its barcode.
  3. Deploy a device by connecting to its management SSID. This deployment mode is applicable to scenarios where an AP's barcode cannot be scanned. You can import the AP's location information and deliver configurations to the AP by connecting to its management SSID.

Procedure (Quick Deployment)

  1. Connect to the AP and power on it.
  2. Log in to the CloudCampus APP.

    1. As shown in Figure 4-8, open the CloudCampus APP, and touch Login Setting on the login screen to set the CloudCampus APP login information including the domain name (or IP address) and port number of the Agile Controller-Campus server.
      NOTE:

The device model, description, parameters, and data in the following figure are for reference only. Set the parameters based on onsite planning.

Figure 4-8  Huawei CloudCampus APP login screen
    2. Enter the user name and password to log in to the CloudCampus APP. The user name and password are used by a tenant to log in to the Agile Controller-Campus for network deployment.

  3. Select a site to which the AP to be installed belongs.

As shown in the following figure, touch Deployment, and select a site to which the AP to be installed belongs. Touch Site under Deployment Acceptance to switch the site.

    NOTE:

The type of all devices in a site must be the same. When deploying APs, select a site of the AP type. That is, all devices in the site must be APs.
