Connecting a LAN to the Internet Using an ADSL Modem

As shown in Figure 8-6, enterprise users want to use a public account to access the Internet.

  • AP functions as a PPPoE client and accesses the Internet using one account (that is, enterprise users use this account to access the Internet).

  • Router functions as a PPPoE server. It is connected to a digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) to provide RADIUS authentication and accounting functions. Users can access the Internet using Router.
