Configuration Notes

PoE features supported by devices include: power management, power-on and power-off in multiple modes, and power-on and power-off management.

PoE Functions Provided by the Device

  • The device supports power supply capability negotiation using Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP).
  • PoE power supply is independent of the system power supply. You can configure maximum power, alarm threshold, and reserved PoE to the total power supply.
  • The device supports automatic, manual, and forcible power-on and power-off mode.
  • The device can detect PDs that are compliant with 802.3af or 802.3at and provides power for these PDs.
  • The device can be configured with the power-off time range to facilitate PD management.
  • PoE OUT is supported only by the AP4050DN-E, AP4050DN-HD, AP7050DN-E, AP2050DN-E, AD9431DN-24X, AD9430DN-24, and AD9430DN-12.
    • The AP2050DN-E supports PoE OUT only in or DC power supply mode.
    • The AP4050DN-E supports PoE OUT only in power supply mode. The USB function and PoE OUT are mutually exclusive, and the USB function takes precedence.
    • The AP4050DN-HD supports PoE OUT only in power supply mode.
  • When LLDP is enabled and the AP4050DN-E, AP4050DN-HD, or AP2050DN-E is directly connected to an 802.3at-compliant switch, the AP supports PoE out after the lldp dot3-tlv power 802.3at command is executed.
