Configuring Downstream Broadcast Packet Control on APs


Hotspot2.0 services require WAP2-802.1x authentication. A group temporal key (GTK) is generated during the authentication. In WPA2-802.1x authentication, an AP uses the same GTK to send broadcast packets to its connected STAs, which brings security risks. Therefore, you need to configure the AP to not forward downstream broadcast or multicast packets.


  1. Run:


    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run:


    The WLAN view is displayed.

  3. Run:

    traffic-profile name profile-name

    The traffic profile view is displayed.

  4. Run:

    traffic-optimize arp-proxy enable

    ARP proxy is enabled.

    By default, ARP proxy is disabled.

  5. Run:

    traffic-optimize bcmc deny all

    The AP is forbidden to send broadcast packets.

    By default, an AP is allowed to send downstream broadcast packets.
