Function

The following firmware can be upgraded:
  • Firmware of PCIe devices including RAID controller cards and NICs (mainstream Huawei-developed cards and standard cards)
  • Drive (SAS and SATA) firmware

Format

./urest -H HOST -p PORT -U USERNAME -P PASSWORD --timeout=TIMEOUT upgradesp -i IMAGEURI -si SIGNATUREURI -T Firmware -PARM PARAMETER -M {Auto,Full,Recover,APP,Driver} -ACT ACTIVEMETHOD

Parameters

Value

HOST

IPv4 or IPv6 address or domain name of the server iBMC. It is a mandatory parameter. If an IPv6 address is used, the IPv6 address must be included in square brackets, such as [1001::1001].

PORT

Port number. The default value is 443. It is an optional parameter.

If the actual port number is not 443, enter the actual port number.

USERNAME

iBMC administrator user name. It is a mandatory parameter.

PASSWORD

Password of the iBMC administrator. It is a mandatory parameter.

-

TIMEOUT

Timeout interval for accessing the iBMC Redfish interface. It is an optional parameter. The default value is 30 seconds.

The value ranges from 10 to 1000, and the unit is seconds.

IMAGEURI

Path of the upgrade file on the remote server. It is a mandatory parameter.

NOTE:

The firmware upgrade file is in .zip format.

  • The name of the firmware upgrade package cannot contain spaces.
  • The directory of the upgrade file cannot contain spaces and Chinese characters.
  • The value must be in File transferring protocol://User name:Password@Remote server IP address/Directory/File name format. (The file transferring protocols include SFTP, HTTPS, NFS, CIFS, and SCP. The protocol names must be in lowercase letters.)
    • If CIFS is used, the /home directory cannot be used.
    • The SFTP, HTTPS, NFS, CIFS, and SCP protocols are supported during firmware upgrade.
NOTE:
  • Only Server Message Block (SMB) V1.0 is supported.
  • The file path restrictions are as follows:
    • The domain name and host name formats are not supported.
    • The e$ path format is not supported.
    • Anonymous login is not supported.
    • Backslashes (\) are not supported.
    • The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces on Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path. If the path contains spaces on Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path.

SIGNATUREURI

Path of the upgrade package digital signature (in .asc format) on the remote server. It is a mandatory parameter.

  • The value must be in File transferring protocol://User name:Password@Remote server IP address/Directory/File name format. (The file transferring protocols include SFTP, HTTPS, NFS, CIFS, and SCP. The protocol names must be in lowercase letters.)
  • If CIFS is used, the /home directory cannot be used.

Upgrade package type. It is a mandatory parameter.

Firmware: Parameter value for upgrading the firmware.

PARAMETER

Upgrade package to be executed. It is a mandatory parameter.

  • all: All upgrade packages are to be executed.
  • A specific upgrade package is to be executed.

-M {Auto,Full,Recover,APP,Driver}

Upgrade type. It is a mandatory parameter.

The value can be Auto, Full, Recover, APP, or Driver.

ACTIVEMETHOD

Effective mode for the upgrade. It is a mandatory parameter.

This parameter can only be set to OSRestart (which indicates OS restart).

Usage Guidelines

  • Only FusionServer V5 servers and TaiShan 200 servers are supported. Atlas servers are not supported.
  • The BIOS version must be 0.39 or later.
  • Smart Provisioning must be installed on the server.
