Importing an NTP Security Public Key

Function

When server identity authentication is enabled, upload the key to the iBMC to implement identity authentication for the communication with the NTP server. You can download the key generator (for example, ntp-keygen) to generate the required key.

HOST

iBMC IP address or domain name. It is a mandatory parameter. If an IPv6 address is used, the IPv6 address must be included in square brackets, such as [1001::1001].

PORT

Port number. The default value is 443. It is an optional parameter.

Enter the port number if the default value 443 is not used.

USERNAME

iBMC user name. It is a mandatory parameter.

PASSWORD

Password of the iBMC user. It is a mandatory parameter.

TIMEOUT

Timeout interval for accessing the iBMC Redfish interface. It is an optional parameter. The default value is 120 seconds.

The value ranges from 10 to 1000, and the unit is seconds.

CONTENT

/tmp directory in the iBMC or remote directory to which the file is imported. It is an optional parameter.

  • If a local directory is used, the directory must be /tmp in the iBMC.
  • If a remote directory is used, the value must be in File transferring protocol://User name:Password@Remote server IP address/Directory/File name format. (The file transferring protocols include sftp, https, nfs, cifs, and scp. The protocol names must be in lowercase letters.)

    If cifs is used, the /home directory cannot be used.

    NOTE:
    • Only Server Message Block (SMB) V1.0 is supported.
    • The file path restrictions are as follows:
      • The domain name and host name formats are not supported.
      • The e$ path format is not supported.
      • Anonymous login is not supported.
      • Backslashes (\) are not supported.
      • The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces on Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path. If the path contains spaces on Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path.

FILE

Local import path. It is an optional parameter.

The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces:

  • On Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path, for example, -F """D:\\ntp config\\ntp.keys""".
  • On Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path, for example, -F "home/ntp config/ntp.keys".

              and CIFS
  -F FILE     the path of file. Local import:Folder/File name.

Import the NTP security public key of a remote directory.
