Function

Upgrade an in-band driver.

Format

./urest -H HOST -p PORT -U USERNAME -P PASSWORD --timeout=TIMEOUT upgradedriver -i IMAGEURI -si SIGNATUREURI -PRO {SFTP} -U ACCESSUSER -P ACCESSPASSWORD -PARM PARAMETER -ACT {OSRestart,ServerRestart}

HOST

iBMC IP address or domain name. It is a mandatory parameter. If an IPv6 address is used, the IPv6 address must be included in square brackets, such as [1001::1001].

PORT

Port number. The default value is 443. It is an optional parameter.

Enter the port number if the default value 443 is not used.

USERNAME

iBMC user name. It is a mandatory parameter.

PASSWORD

Password of the iBMC user. It is a mandatory parameter.

TIMEOUT

Timeout interval for accessing the iBMC Redfish interface. It is an optional parameter. The default value is 30 seconds.

The value ranges from 10 to 1000, and the unit is seconds.

IMAGEURI

Upgrade package URL. It is a mandatory parameter.

URL

  • For a local server, only the /tmp directory in the iBMC is supported, and the value must be in Local server IP address/tmp/File name format.
  • For a remote server, any directory is supported, and the value must be in Remote server IP address/Directory/File name format.
  • Only .iso and .zip upgrade files are supported.
  • The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces:
    • On Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path.
    • On Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path.

SIGNATUREURI

Upgrade package digital signature URL. It is a mandatory parameter.

URL

  • For a local server, only the /tmp directory in the iBMC is supported, and the value must be in Local server IP address/tmp/File name format.
  • For a remote server, any directory is supported, and the value must be in Remote server IP address/Directory/File name format.
  • Only .iso.asc digital signature files are supported.
  • The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces:
    • On Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path.
    • On Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path.

-PRO {SFTP}

Protocol used for uploading an upgrade package. It is a mandatory parameter.

The value must be SFTP.

ACCESSUSER

URI access user name. It is a mandatory parameter.

The value is smaller than 32 bytes.

ACCESSPASSWORD

URI access password. It is a mandatory parameter.

The value is smaller than 32 bytes.

PARAMETER

Upgrade parameter. It is a mandatory parameter.

  • all: indicates an entire upgrade.
  • Other parameters, such as package1.rpm, package2.rpm (which indicates that package 1 and package 2 will be upgraded).

-ACT {OSRestart,ServerRestart}

Mode for the upgrade to take effect. It is a mandatory parameter.

  • OSRestart: Restart the OS.
  • ServerRestart: Restart the server.

Usage Guidelines

To upgrade the in-band river of a remote server, the iBMA must be installed on the remote server and the iBMA service must be started.

  -si SIGNATUREURI      path of the upgrade package digital signature file
                        which can be IP/tmp/filename for a signature file on
                        the iBMC or IP/directory/filename for a signature file
                        on a remote server.
  -PRO {SFTP}           protocol used to download the upgrade package
  -U ACCESSUSER         user name for upgrade package access
  -P ACCESSPASSWORD     password for upgrade package access
  -PARM PARAMETER       'all' indicates the entire upgrade package or a
                        specific upgrade package (for example package1.rpm)
  -ACT {OSRestart,ServerRestart}
