Creating an OS Deployment Resource of the Smart Provisioning Service


Create an OS deployment resource of the Smart Provisioning service. This resource is controlled by the license and can be used only after being authorized by the license.


./urest -H HOST -p PORT -U USERNAME -P PASSWORD addspcfg -T SPOSInstallPara -F FILE






iBMC IP address or domain name. It is a mandatory parameter. If an IPv6 address is used, the IPv6 address must be included in square brackets, such as [1001::1001].



Port number. The default value is 443. It is an optional parameter.

Enter the port number if the default value 443 is not used.


iBMC user name. It is a mandatory parameter.



Password of the iBMC user. It is a mandatory parameter.



Configuration type. It is a mandatory parameter.

SPOSInstallPara: configures the OS.


Local path of the configuration file. It is a mandatory parameter.

  • Value format: Directory/File name
  • The configuration file needs to be prepared in advance. The file must be a .json file or a file of which the format is the same as that of a .json file (the file content is included in {}).
  • The configuration file content format is: "Configuration item":"Value", "Configuration item":"Value", ...; If the value of a configuration file is True, False, or a digit, the value does not need to be placed between quotation marks (").
  • The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces:
    • On Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path, for example, F """D:\\test config\\config.json""".
    • On Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path, for example, -F "/home/test config/config.json"".

Usage Guidelines

  • Only FusionServer V5 servers and TaiShan 200 servers are supported. Atlas servers are not supported.
  • The BIOS version must be 0.39 or later.
  • Smart Provisioning must be installed on the server.


Obtain help information.

[root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** addspcfg -h 
usage: urest addspcfg [-h] -T {SPRAID,SPOSInstallPara} -F FILE

optional arguments:
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  -T {SPRAID,SPOSInstallPara}
                        create service type
  -F FILE               create SP the local configuration file in JSON format.
                        The file contains the attributes to be configured, for
                        example, {"attribute":"value", "attribute2":"value2"

Configure the OS.

[root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** addspcfg -T SPOSInstallPara -F /home/aa.json 
Success: successfully completed request
