Function

Upgrade firmware, for example iBMC and CPLD.

Format

./urest -H HOST -p PORT -U USERNAME -P PASSWORD --timeout=TIMEOUT upgradefw -i IMAGEURI -F FILE

Parameters

HOST

iBMC IP address or domain name. It is a mandatory parameter. If an IPv6 address is used, the IPv6 address must be included in square brackets, such as [1001::1001].

PORT

Port number. The default value is 443. It is an optional parameter.

Enter the port number if the default value 443 is not used.

USERNAME

iBMC user name. It is a mandatory parameter.

PASSWORD

Password of the iBMC user. It is a mandatory parameter.

TIMEOUT

Timeout interval for accessing the iBMC Redfish interface. It is an optional parameter. The default value is 30 seconds.

The value ranges from 10 to 1000, and the unit is seconds.

IMAGEURI

Path of the upgrade file on the remote server. It is an optional parameter.

  • The value must be in File transferring protocol://User name:Password@Remote server IP address/Directory/File name format. (The file transferring protocols include sftp, https, nfs, cifs, and scp. The protocol names must be in lowercase letters.)
    NOTE:
    • Only Server Message Block (SMB) V1.0 is supported.
    • The file path restrictions are as follows:
      • The domain name and host name formats are not supported.
      • The e$ path format is not supported.
      • Anonymous login is not supported.
      • Backslashes (\) are not supported.
      • The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces on Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path. If the path contains spaces on Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path.
  • Only .hpm upgrade files are supported.

FILE

Local path of the upgrade file. It is an optional parameter.

The path cannot contain any Chinese character.

The file path cannot contain spaces. If the path contains spaces:

  • On Windows, add three double quotation marks (""") before and after the path, for example, -F """D:\\config test\\config.hpm""".
  • On Linux, add a double quotation mark (") before and after the path, for example, -F "/home/config test/config.hpm"".

  -h, --help   show this help message and exit
  -i IMAGEURI  path of the upgrade package on a remote server. it is in the
               protocol://username:password@ip/directory/filename format.
               supported protocols include https, scp, sftp, cifs, and nfs
  -F FILE      the local path and file name of upload file,file extensions
               should be ".hpm"

Upgrade iBMC firmware remotely.

[root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H 10.10.10.10 -U ****** -P ****** upgradefw -i sftp://******:******@10.10.10.10/home/rh2288hv3_jffs2.hpm
Success: successfully completed request

Upgrade iBMC firmware locally.

[root@localhost bin]# ./urest upgradefw -F /home/rh2288hv3_jffs2.hpm
