Deploying an OS Using Smart Provisioning

  1. Query the supported OS types and versions.

    [root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** getspcfg -T SPCfg -F /home/**.json -I 1
    Success: successfully completed request

  2. Query Smart Provisioning information.

    [root@localhost bin] ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** getspinfo
    SysRestartDelaySeconds : 30
    SPStartEnabled : False
    OSVersion : 1.01
    APPVersion : 1.01
    DataVersion : 1.01

    If the information cannot be obtained and a message similar to "Failure: resource was not found" is displayed, rectify the fault by referring to Error Message "Failure: resource was not found." Is Displayed When a User Attempts to Obtain the Smart Provisioning Information or Upgrade Smart Provisioning.

  3. Deliver the configuration.

    1. Prepare the configuration file os.json. The template is as follows:

      { "InstallMode":"Recommended", "OsType":"CentOS7U3", "CDKey":"", "RootPwd":"xxxxxx", "HostName":"Huawei", "Autopart":true, "Language":"en-US", "Timezone":"Eastern Standard Time", "Keyboard":"0x00000409", "Position":{"DiskName":"/dev/sdb"}, "CheckFirmware":false, "Partition":[], "Software":[] }

    2. Run the following command to deliver the configuration:
      [root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** addspcfg -T SPOSInstallPara -F /home/SPOSInstallPara.json
      Success: successfully completed request

  4. Set the enabling status of Smart Provisioning.

    [root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** setspinfo -S True
    Success: successfully completed request

  5. Connect to virtual media.

    [root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** connectvmm -T Connect –i nfs://
    Success: successfully completed request

  6. Restart the OS.

    [root@localhost bin]#./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** syspowerctrl –T ForceRestart
    Success: successfully completed request

  7. Query configuration results.

    [root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** getspresult 
    Success: successfully completed
