Function

Create a logical disk.

Only out-of-band RAID controller cards are supported.

HOST

iBMC IP address or domain name. It is a mandatory parameter. If an IPv6 address is used, the IPv6 address must be included in square brackets, such as [1001::1001].

PORT

Port number. The default value is 443. It is an optional parameter.

Enter the port number if the default value 443 is not used.

USERNAME

iBMC user name. It is a mandatory parameter.

-

PASSWORD

Password of the iBMC user. It is a mandatory parameter.

-

TIMEOUT

Timeout interval for accessing the iBMC Redfish interface. It is an optional parameter. The default value is 120 seconds.

The value ranges from 10 to 1000, and the unit is seconds.

CONTROLLERID

ID of the controller to which the logical disk belongs. It is a mandatory parameter.

-

CAPACITYBYTES

Logical disk capacity. It is an optional parameter.

The value is an integer and the unit is byte. The value must be a multiple of 1048576 (1 MB).

NOTE:

This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.

-OV {65536,131072,262144,524288,1048576}

Stripe size of the logical disk. It is an optional parameter.

The unit is byte. The values are as follows:

  • 65536
  • 131072
  • 262144
  • 524288
  • 1048576
NOTE:

This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.

-CF {True,False}

Whether a CacheCade logical disk is to be created. It is an optional parameter.

  • If a CacheCade logical disk is to be created, this parameter must be set to True.
  • If a non-CacheCade logical disk is to be created, It is an optional parameter and can be set to False.

-DI DRIVES [DRIVES ...]

Member disk list. It is a mandatory parameter.

Format: 0 1 2

NOTE:
  • The port types and storage media of member disks must be the same.
  • If a logical disk is to be added to an existing driver group, you can set this parameter to the ID of any available physical disk of the driver group.

-VL {RAID0,RAID1,RAID5,RAID6,RAID10,RAID50,RAID60}

RAID level of the logical disk. It is a mandatory parameter.

  • RAID0
  • RAID1
  • RAID5
  • RAID6
  • RAID10
  • RAID50
  • RAID60
NOTE:
  • If a CacheCade logical disk is to be created, this parameter can be set only to RAID0 or RAID1.
  • This parameter is not required if a logical disk is to be added to an existing driver group.

VOLUMENAME

Logical disk name. It is an optional parameter.

A string of up to 15 bytes.

Range: ASCII codes corresponding to 0x20 to 0x7E

-RP {NoReadAhead,ReadAhead}

Default read policy of the logical disk. It is an optional parameter.

  • NoReadAhead: The Read Ahead function is disabled.
  • ReadAhead: The Read Ahead function is enabled. The controller pre-reads sequential data or the data predicted to be used and saves it in the cache.
NOTE:

This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.

-WP {WriteThrough,WriteBackWithBBU,WriteBack}

Default write policy of the logical disk. It is an optional parameter.

  • WriteThrough: After the disk subsystem receives all data, the controller sends the host a message indicating that data transmission is complete.
  • WriteBackWithBBU: When no battery backup unit (BBU) is configured or the configured BBU is faulty, the controller automatically switches to the WriteThrough mode.
  • WriteBack: After the controller cache receives all data, the controller sends the host a message indicating that data transmission is complete.
NOTE:

This parameter cannot be set to WriteBack for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.

-CP {CachedIO,DirectIO}

Default cache policy of the logical disk. It is an optional parameter.

  • CachedIO: All the read and write requests are processed by the cache of the RAID controller. Select this value only when CacheCade 1.1 is configured.
  • DirectIO: This value has different definitions in read and write scenarios.
    • In read scenarios, data is directly read from physical disks. (If DefaultReadPolicy is set to ReadAhead, data read requests are processed by the cache of the RAID controller.)
    • In write scenarios, data write requests are processed by the cache of the RAID controller. (If DefaultWritePolicy is set to WriteThrough, data is directly written to physical disks.)
NOTE:

This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.

SPANNUMBER

Number of subgroups of the logical disk. It is an optional parameter.

  • Set this parameter to 1 if the RAID level is RAID0, RAID1, RAID5, or RAID6.
  • Set this parameter to 2 to 8 if the RAID level is RAID10, RAID50, or RAID60.
NOTE:
  • This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.
  • This parameter is not required if a logical disk is to be added to an existing driver group.

-AP {ReadWrite,ReadOnly,Blocked}

Access policy of the logical disk. It is an optional parameter.

  • ReadWrite: Read and write operations are allowed.
  • ReadOnly: Only read operations are allowed.
  • Blocked: The data cannot be accessed.
NOTE:

This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.

-DCP {Unchanged,Enabled,Disabled}

Cache policy of member disks. It is an optional parameter.

  • Unchanged: The default cache policy is retained.
  • Enabled: Data is written to the cache before being written to the physical disk, which improves the write performance. However, data will be lost if there is no protection mechanism when power failures occur.
  • Disabled: Data is not written to the cache before being written to the physical disk. Data is not lost if power failures occur.
NOTE:

This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.

-M {UnInit,QuickInit,FullInit}

Initialization mode of the logical disk. It is an optional parameter.

  • UnInit: Initialization is not performed.
  • QuickInit: Write zeros for the first and last 10 MB of the logical disk. After that, the logical disk status changes to Optimal.
  • FullInit: Initialize the logical disk. Before the initialization is complete, the logical disk status is initialization.
NOTE:

This parameter is not required for the creation of a CacheCade logical disk.
